Daily Homework
**All homework must be completed in PENCIL!**
Students will receive homework DAILY. Please note that homework assignments will be written on the newsletter every week and posted on this website as well. Your child will have homework every Monday-Thursday unless I state otherwise on the newsletter. I do not pass out homework in a packet, so your child will be expected to complete about 45 minutes worth of homework each night. Please note that they may need slightly more or less time for homework, depending on their understanding of that day’s lessons.
The homework will generally include one Language Arts and one Math practice assignment nightly. Students will also have nightly Fluency Reading practice. The assignments are based on what was learned that day in class, so students should have a fresh understanding of each concept. They will also often have notes and practice assignments in their binders to refer to for help.
Most nights, students should be able to complete homework independently. Please set up a time and place for quiet, uninterrupted homework. Also, ask your child about their homework and make sure they are completing it responsibly and completely.
All work is due the following day and will be graded according to effort and completeness. Late homework will be accepted, however, it will receive half credit (unless there is parent communication regarding the emergency). While I’m a firm supporter of extra-curricular activities, school comes first! Sporting events, recitals, and the like, will not be considered emergency situations.
Students who do not responsibly return their homework on time will move their behavior clip, and must complete the assignment during their recess time.
